Losing on America’s Next Top Model may in fact be better than winning. Seems, if you lose you may get the modeling contracts just that much faster. Two of last season’s losers got snatched up by Elite as soon as they went off the show.

Anya Kop Anya Rozova, or Anya Kop ANTM last season is now signed with Elite, and we may see much more of her in the near future as the agency starts booking her. Anya, Now back to being a brunette says the blonde hair color that America’s Next Top Model gave her was a bit hard for her to keep up and I for one think she looks much better as a brunette than the ANTM look of “bleached blonde”. I loved her on the show and was hoping she would win it. I am glad Anya still came out a winner post ANTM.

here’s some commentary from a news report..

“Each season Elite plucks non-winners from the ANTM cast. Rozova’s former housemate and competitor, Katarzyna Dolinska, was signed “the second she lost.” “Last season was a great batch,” Covarrubias added. “Whitney’s kicking butt, Anya’s kicking butt, Katarzyna’s kicking butt. We’re doing really well with the three girls we ended up with.”

I gotta admit, I LOVE these crazy designer boots. They are so so cool. These shoes would make me tower over the crowd, I would be able to see over just about anyone and look fashionably cool at the same time… or look kinda like a freak… would have to try the crazy shoes on to figure that little fashion dilemma out.

I bet I could walk in them, well for a few feet at least.

Now these funky ballet toe shoes, are just a bit too hardcore for my feet. I know if I even tried, I would fall flat on my face. I believe they come from a Japanese designer. Leave it to the Japanese to design some crazy crazy shit.

Metal “I Dream of Jeanie” shoes… awesome. If I ever get that dream job of court jester, I will be sure to get a pair of these crazy shoes. I may need to snag them from a museum though :(

And here are the summer sandals, not as high as the boots, but great platforms anyway. Now those are some cool looking sandals!

Here are some more nutty boots, shoes and sandals.

Ralph Lauren Sky High Pink Bootie, I would kill for this Ralph Lauren shoe.. actually, I believe I want the pair. Very cool looking, hip and very cotton candy pink

Killer boots from Miu Miu, these are awesome, they look a bit hard on the feet… but hey, for these designer boots, I can deal with a few blisters.

Givenchy Boots, these are the same boots that have been shown over and over, the gladiator look was pretty hot at last years shows. I wonder what this years runway shows have in store

So here is another really cutting edge (literally) Margiela Fashion Show. The theme is Under Construction, I think. The models got rolled out in steal cages by male models in black. The clothes on the models were unfinished and many of them were still attached to the bolts of fabric. Accessories were also made of things like caution tape.

Trying to be a fashion model? Here is an article from the modeling blog about finding all the work you can whether you have an agent or still looking for one.

Margiela, known to take risks and be very “out of the norm”, shows some crazy fashion at the 2008 show. The pieces all had the same theme… neck safety and the air bags were built in for any trip these models needed to take.

Futuristic trash bag chic? Now we all know that designer fashion is not always about the wearable… or even pretty… sometimes its just way way out there.

Ivana modeling on the margiela 2008 runway, this show was all about the 1/2 and 1/2 look, as in one leg in and one leg out.

Ines modeling for Margiela, I assume this was not a “ready to wear” show. This may be a great choice of attire for anyone who likes fast cars. The air bag and neck support are already built into the outfit. Not recommended for any hot climates as the insulation may in fact give you heat stroke.

I believe the model is Emiko and this is a fuzzy take the “safety first” fashion.

This will be a classic, taking the 1/2 and 1/2 and safety first looks and combining them…we get the air bag scarf one legged dress. I want one! this is Lui Wen modeling for, who else, Margiela

Think it would be an easy task to cast a large fashion show…. think again. Victoria’s Secret puts on one of the most famous fashion shows around. Casting the Victoria’s secret fashion show brings out supermodels from the most elite modeling agencies around as well as thousands not so famous ones.

When the Victoria’s Secret casting call comes out, thousands of the most beautiful women on the planet answer. Picking the few girls that will join the tour or work the shows I hear takes many rounds of auditions and cuts with the final decisions being made as late as a few weeks prior to the show itself.

Check out the video below. This short video gives you the scoop on what happens during the casting of the Victoria’s Secret Angels.
