As a father of two young boys who are obsessed with the Star Wars, Swedish designer Jonny Johansson took inspiration from George Lucas’ legendary movies for Acne’s fall 2010 collection. Although Jonny is not a much of a fan of the Star Wars, “we have to watch it and play it all the time. It’s sort of embarrassing, but that’s where my inspiration comes from—always close to home. It has just completely penetrated my world.”
Earlier this week, the fall collection was shown in London at the Tramshed in Shoreditch with models having spray-painted foreheads and greasy glitter around their eyes stomping down the runway in cartonnish boots looking like alien militia. The collection brings a cool fashionable Nordic streetwear from banana-shaped pants with zippered ankles, jumpsuits, and oversized sweaters to scarves wrapped around giving a hood effect.
