Fashion Models and the Hottest Designer Trends

This past September, HP partnered up with Vivienne Tam to release an HP Mini 1000, also being called a digital clutch, featuring peony flowers. Due to its popularity since its release, they have reworked the Mini and will be coming out with an HP Mini 2000 inspired by the Chinese Butterfly Lovers story. Since fashion and technology go hand in hand, HP and Intel have announced a product integration with Lifetime Television’s hit show Project Runway making HP’s touch-enabled PC and notebook a fundamental component of the creative process for the upcoming designer hopefuls.

Vice President of Production and Development for TV and Feature Film at the Weinstein Company, Barbara Schneeweiss says, “Technology is what’s next in fashion design. Forward-thinking designers are exploring new ways to use technology in the design process.”

The designers will have the option to utilize these computers to sketch and inspire their designs, while the winner will be given $50,000 prize package from HP and Intel to create, design, and run their own business post Project Runway.

JoAnn Alfano, executive vice president of Entertainment at Lifetime Network, said, “We are excited about HP’s new technology and think it will add a great new element to this season of Project Runway.”

Season 7 premieres today at 10pm ET/PT with Nicole Richie as guest judge.

America’s Next Top Model is casting for Cycle 14! It’s hard to belive that Tyra Banks show ANTM has gone 13 rounds and is now looking for it’s 14th Top Model. Ladies wanting to audition for ANTM cycle 14 can check out the audition schedule and casting call locations.

The Top Model castings will be hitting major cities in the months of August and September 2009. The cities on the list are Atlanta,  Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Houston.

We all heard about the ANTM casting call, especially the infamous NYC model castings held at a theater. Heres the video of how not to hold open auditions for thousands of aspiring models.

So I heard the news about whats going on with Tyra Banks and her show America’s Next Top Model. A few months back I remember hearing about the craziness, riot and arrests at the ANTM New York America’s Next Top Model Casting Call. I also read after that crazy casting call, ANTM will change the way modeling casting calls are done for the show.

Tyra and the producers decided to switch it up a bit for cycle 13, maybe the ratings have been dipping. Anyway, ANTM cycle 13 will be all shorter models who are 5′7″ and under. The show also has said that they wanted a diverse bunch in all shapes and sizes.

With that said, you gotta wonder how a short model will fit into the high fashion scene of today. There were a few shorter models that did make supermodel stardom, Kate Moss and Twiggy come to mind, but for the most part the majority have been extremely tall. The reasoning behind that is that many designers feel their clothes look better on taller, leaner women.

So far in the history of the Tyra Banks ANTM show, none of the ladies have made it to supermodel stardom. So maybe it is time for a change.

The casting calls for the Tyra Banks show America’s Next Top Model Cycle 14 are going on this month all over the country. A few days ago the show went to Columbus and held auditions and interviews for a few hundred aspiring models.

Cycle 13 had cast short models for the show, so I have yet to find out what this new season of ANTM will be casting for, guess we’ll wait and hear.

The hit Tyra Banks TV modeling reality show is now casting models for the new season!

ANTM Cycle 13 is now casting for models for Tyra Bank’s hit show. America’s Next Top Model is a reality show that features a dozen new models every season to compete for prizes and a contract with a top modeling agency.

If you believe you have what it takes to make it onto the show and be chosen by Tyra Banks as America’s Next Top Model, check out the America’s Next Top Model casting call.

You must be female and 18 to 27 years of age at the time of application and for some reason 5′7″ or under… go figure.

So I actually made it through the entire America’s Next Top Model Cycle 11 reality TV marathon ending with the finale which crowned McKay the winner and America’s Next Top Model. McKey is a stunning girl and definitely deserved the win.

Lets take a look back through this last season of ANTM

Nikeysha, the anorexic girl, who looked incredibly skinny and made the other size 1 models look plump standing next to her.

Here is Sheena, who really reminds probably everyone of a slim Kimora, maybe it’s the pudgy round face. Anyway, she just kept getting knocked for being a hoochie mama. Her lying to the judges about her fake boobs didn’t help her situation. I mean, you rarely see see the Givenchy runway models flashing a pair of silicone Double D’s.

No matter how hard this girl tried, she alway’s seemed a bit out of place.

Isis, not really a girl, but close enough I guess. What the hell was Tyra Banks even thinking here? maybe… ratings? This one really confused me because I read the requirements for the show and they clearly states a female 17 to 27. Maybe the producers though if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it must be a duck. Isis is really a man and I watched the swim suit episode where Isis tried to cover her manhood while wearing a bikini. BTW, the huge feet and hands may not have helped her either. I can’t even imagine how the girls felt being beaten by a guy in the first few episodes where Isis was around.

Now, what if Isis did actually win got the Covergirl and squeeky clean Seventeen magazine contract? Would Elite models really sign her? Guess we’ll never know. Too bad.

Anyway, I guess it all makes for great reality TV in the end and congrats to McKey.
