Fashion Models and the Hottest Designer Trends

In an editorial entitled “Lookbook” for Elle Italia February 2010, 22-year-old Italian supermodel Vanessa Hessler of Glamour Models, Dutch model Charon Cooijmans of Marilyn Agency, Georgian model Anna K., and Dutch model Valerie Van der Graaf of SPS Model Management star in this simple editorial shot by photographer Michael Sanders. These lovely ladies are shown in designers such as Jill Sander, Karl Lagerfeld, Giorgio Armani, Prada, Miu Miu, Dolce & Gabbana, Pierre Mantoux, Moschino, Chanel, Max Mara, and Ralph Lauren with my favorite item being the gray top with the Karl Lagerfeld embellishment.

Jumping into the Aussie surfing culture for the March 2010 issue of Vogue Australia is 22-year-old Australian model Abbey Lee Kershaw of Next Models, who was recently featured on the cover of Vogue Nippon by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, shot by photographer Max Doyle. Styled by Naomi Smith, Abbey Lee is shown in front of a white studio backdrop, the beach behind her and with many studdly young men in designs by Versace, Louis Vuitton, Jean Paul Gaultier, Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Emporio Armani, Prada, and Acne with my favorite looking being Abbey Lee sitting on a bench in a Louis Vuitton silk dress and pink Versace shoes.

On the cover of the March 2010 issue of Fashion Canada is 23-year-old Canadian cover girl Jessica Stam of IMG, who is the face of Aldo’s spring/summer 2010 campaign, shot by photographer Derek Kettela. Style by Tammy Eckenswiller in a balanced combination of romantic and hard edge looks, Jessica is showcased in a Donna Karan dress and bandeau, an Agent Provacateur top and Jean Paul Gaultier shorts, a Viktor&Rolf dress with Charlotte Ronson leggings and black Louis Vuitton boots, a black Dolce & Gabbana bodysuit, a dress with bandeau and skirt by Jean Paul Gaultier, and Jean Paul Gaultier jacket, bustier, and shorts. Using a blank backdrop, the garments really show off Jessica’s beautiful curves and her natural beauty.

In an editorial entitled “This Used to Be My Playground” is 17-year-old Hungarian newcomer Sophie Srej of IMG, who recently closed the Anne Valérie Hash couture show during Paris Fashion Week, for the online publication the Ones2Watch shot by photographer Terry Gates. Utilizing a studio setting as well as life on a ranch, stylist Hissa Igarashi shows Sophie in a Stella McCartney dress under a white Vinti Andrews denim jacket, a shirt and jacket by Ann Demeulemeester and a zebra-print Miu Miu skirt with zebra-print 603 leggings and bronze Jimmy Choos, a white Yohji Yamamoto coat, a leopard print Dolce & Gabbana dress and fur jacket, and a black 3.1 Philip Lim leather jacket and skirt and a Lina Osterman shirt with an Ann Demeuelemeester leather belt top and Ann Sofie Back tights. My favorite image in this editorial is Sophie in the leopard-print Dolce & Gabbana fur jacket and dress smoking a cigarette sitting next to a rancher drinking a coca-cola looking casually chic.

For the first issue of Archetype X is a special 3-D editorial entitled “Total Eclipse of the Heart” shot by photographer Baldovino Barani starring Yana Pova of Muse Model Management. Styled by Winton J. Dean, Yana is shown gallivanting through the cities of China in a lime green structured shoulder short dress, a fuchsia Dolce & Gabbana faux fur coat, a bright green structured shoulder body suit, and Louis Vuitton bunny ears in almost every image. This editorial is quite interesting and definitely stands out with my favorite look being the bright lime green structured shoulder short dress with black Louis Vuitton bunny ears.

35-year-old fashionista Victoria Beckham is featured on the cover of Glamour US for the March 2010 issue showing a slightly more casual housewife side to Victoria. She is showcased in a Wildfox tee and her own brand of jeans, a black Marc Jacobs bra and white cardigan with Moschino Cheap and Chic shorts and lilac Christian Louboutin heels, a floral Dolce & Gabbana bodysuit with peach Christian Louboutin heels, a Sonia Rykiel top with her brand of denim shorts and green Christian Louboutin heels, a pink Burberry Prorsum trench, a cream dress by her own brand, and a lavendar Marchesa dress along with the cutest golden retriever puppy. I really like how Glamour showed Victoria doing the everyday housewife tasks from washing the floors and giving the puppy a bath to throwing a birthday party for the kids, cooking in the kitchen, and running errands.

In the magazine, she talked about what she thinks is the sexiest part about a woman. She says, “I think the sexiest thing about a woman is confidence, but confidence in a humble way, not in an arrogant way. Sense of humor is definitely important. And sunglasses always hide a multitude of sins. Sunglasses and a great pair of heels can turn most outfits around.”

The February 2010 issue of Flare Canada features an editorial entitled “All That Glitters” by photographer Max Abadian starring 19-year-old Canadian model Tara Gill of DNA, who recently walked in the Jean Paul Gaultier couture show at Paris Fashion Week, adorned in a plethora of jewels. Styled by Elizabeth Cabral, Tara is shown with slick back hair, dark eyes, and bold red lips in a variety of risqué lingerie by H&M, Patricia Fieldwalker, La Senza, and Elle Macpherson Intimates and jewels by Alan Anderson, Vera Wang, Dolce & Gabbana, Robert Sorrell, and Roxanne Assoulin for Lee Angel. This editorial gives an old Hollywood glamour feel, which I quite enjoy with all the bright, shiny jewels dangling all over Tara.
