Fashion Models and the Hottest Designer Trends

Following a military trend, Marie Claire US March 2010 features an editorial entitled “Military Tactics” starring 24-year-old American model Lily Aldridge of IMG in the desert shot by photographer Matt Jones. With some action poses, stylist Isabel Dupre outfits Lily in Ralph Lauren Black Label jacket, shirt, and tank with Ralph Lauren Blue Label jeans and Alexander Wang shoes, Gucci jacket and pants with a Stella McCartney tank, a Balmain dress and Seneca Rising tank with Alexander Wang shoes, a white Fendi dress, Alexander Wang vest, white tank, green tank, and shoes with a Camilla and Marc skirt, a MaxMara coat and Stella McCartney cardigan with a Dsquared2 skirt, and Marc Jacobs ruffle jacket and green shirt with a Kain white shirt and Dr. Martens for Jean Paul Gaultier boots. My favorite item in this editorial is definitely the thigh-high Dr. Martens for Jean Paul Gaultier boots mixing in the tough, military style with some feminine chic.

In a Marie Antoinette infused with an Asian influenced winter wonderland-type editorial entitled “China White,” 25-year-old Russian cover girl Sasha Pivovarova of IMG, who recently renewed her contract with Longchamp, is featured in the March 2010 issue of Vogue UK shot by photographer Tim Walker. As the star of this fantasy world, stylist Kate Phelan showcased Sasha in a white Yves Saint Laurent sleeveless double crêpe cotton dress coat with white Cornelia James opera gloves and white Jonathan Aston tights, a cream Chanel taffeta minidress and white Chanel leather shoes with Bebaroque printed tights, a white John Rocha crochet top with peplum waist and John Rocha leather clogs with white Dolce & Gabbana silk shorts and Jonathan Aston tights, a Giambattista Valli linen/silk ruffle-front cape with white Cornelia James opera gloves and Bebaroque printed tights, and a white Fendi shredded voile shift dress with John Rocha leather clogs. Utilizing a setting in shades of blue and whites, the editorial looks very classic and French with my favorite look being the Gianfranco Ferré strapless silk-organza minidress with Natacha Marro printed suede ankle boots surrounded by pearls on the floor as well as dangling from a leafless tree.

In the recent issue of Numéro, 25-year-old Itlian model Bianca Balti of IMG, stars in a religious yet seductive editorial entitled “Faith” shot by photographer Camilla Åkrans. Styled by Franck Benhamou, Bianca is shown in a church revealing her legs, praying by the windowsill, outside by the courtyard, with a been on her arm, and as a nun in designers such as Fendi, Chanel, Givenchy, Dice Kayek, Yves Saint Laurent, and Prada. I think this editorial is a great twist on a religion turned seductive with the white cross-like dress being my favorite look.

18-year-old American model Ali Stephens of Elite Model Management, who recently appeared in an editorial for Vogue Germany by Thomas Schnek, alongside 23-year-old Canadian male model Taylor Fuchs of Wilhelmina, who Forbes ranked as the world’s ninth top male model in 2009, are featured in an editorial entitled “True Romance” in the February 2010 issue of Allure. Shot by photographer Michael Thompson, Ali is shown in a linen toile Chanel dress, an embroidered silk dress with ostrich feathers by Giambattista, a silk Fendi dress, a tulle dress and suede bustier also by Fendi, and a silk jersey top also by Fendi. I really enjoy this editorial because it gives a 1940’s felt romance giving off a sincere happiness vibe.
