With bright, colorful eyes and bold red lips, 21-year-old Canadian cover girl Coco Rocha, who recently debuted her first look from her Rococo clothing line at the Grammy’s, is featured in a layout entitled “Hot Coco” for the March 2010 issue of Elle US. Shot by photographer Alexei Hay, stylist Christopher Niquet outfits Coco in a red Dior satin dress and bra with Diane von Furstenberg by H. Stern yellow gold bracelets, an organza coat and blouse by Salvatore Ferragamo with a Leah C. Couture Millinery ostrich-feather choker, a Ports 1961 by Tia Cibani silk/linen coat with brown Alberta Ferretti cotton stretch pants and bracelets by David Yurman, Valentino embroidered silk coat and lacquered lace pants with a green Dooney & Burke bag, and a Bottega Veneta canvas poplin cotton shirt with a Patricia Underwood felted rabbit-fur hat and a yellow gold watch with diamonds and a black satin strap by Dior Timeless. I think the makeup by artist Kabuki and hair by Kevin Ryan adds a great dramatic feel making the garments pop out of the bright white backdrop.

This is another celebrity “What Where They Thinking” fashion flop. Ashley Olson recently appeared at a Hollywood event looking like she just walked a mile through hurricane winds and her hair spray just couldn’t hold it all together.

Ashley’s unruly updo paired with gaudy “bride of Frankenstein” makeup just makes the Valentino lace dress she was wearing appear to be more “kitchen curtain” than high fashion.

Unfortunately, that dress would probably look stunning… on someone else.

New Face of Valentino | Dree Hemingway

The new face of Valentino… drum roll please, seems to be the 22-year-old A Dree Hemingway of Elite . Dree Hemingway, an American, showcases the s/s 2010 line for Valentino.

Dree is photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. Valentino seems to have taken a change from last years “darker & older” feel for a younger look showcasing Dree in a very urban, a bit downtown with a splash of punk look.

The line is using lighter and more vibrant colors. In this spread Bree appears with bright pink hair and large sunglasses to bring out the vibrant new look of the season.

With the recent retirement of Mr. Valentino, the label’s new designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli are revamping the Vanlentino look to appeal to the younger crowd they are trying so hard to woo. The first glimpse of their new designs appeared at the Golden Globes this past weekend on actress Cloë Sevigny in a soft lilac ruffled evening gown with the classic Valentino style. The pre-fall 2010 collection is more avant than previous seasons with lace, exquisite beadwork, the classic ruffles and frills, and red for the first time ever. Although you may think that the red will be in the likes of chiffon, Maria and Pier are spicing things up with a red patent trench, red leather motorcycle pants with a red fox chubby, and a red party dress Pier is calling “dangerous red”.

Valentino 2008-2009 shoes & handbags

I was browsing through a bunch of handbags that I clearly can not afford and I found a black handbag from the Valentino 2008-2009 collection that I just adore.

I love how the leather pattern forms a rose. Actually, it seems like bows and roses were in the spotlight for the 2008-2009 fall/winter Valentino purse collection since most of the bags had one or the other. Yep, the hand bags are pretty awesome, well most of them, but very expensive as well. As much as I love the bag…. yikes, its a few grand to own it…$2495 to be exact. BTW… this is an awesome shoe, and yes, it also has a bow to go along with the handbags
