One of the oddest things to come off the high fashion runways this season must be the striking “Lobster Claw” shoe from Alexander McQueen.

Now, You either love this or hate it, doesn’t really seem to be much in between. I think it’s HOT!

10 inch stilettos are hot for sure. You are already walking on your toes in these babies. Alex, added a spin to the overdone platform by rounding the top of the shoe to make a clunky, but stylish, shoe that reminds one of the lobster claw.

Many designs of Alexander McQueen are daring, not to mention a bit tough to wear in real life. Don’t get me wrong, they are stunning on the runway for sure and the decorations on the shoes are “to die for”. However, the Lobster claws seem to have transcended the “runway only” phase and may even be on their way to becoming a trend. People have been spotted wearing them, not many, but that may not matter when you have such trendsetters as Lady Gaga sporting them.

Actually,  Lady Gaga and Daphne Guinness were both spotted in their own “Lobster Claws” last month.

Will this be a trend? Will this be the next big thing in shoes? Maybe not, but they are just so COOL! I want a pair.

We all know this, fashion is on a 2 decade cycle of whats hot and whats not. Every 20 years we see a return to fashion trends of the past. Maybe trends get recycled because because there is a finite amount of “looks” or maybe it’s just easier to borrow from the past then create the future. Either way, lets check out this years resurrections.

Remember Ray Ban’s?rayban-sunglasses.jpeg
Ray Ban is back. Ray-Ban was founded by Bausch & Lomb. Originally made for the Air Forc

e, the simple black sunglasses made their way into Hollywood, before we knew it, they became a fashion staple and you just weren’t “cool” unless you has a pair of Ray-Ban shades. Sunglass styles have made the rounds the last decade and we saw a new trend yearly, from the small round Joohn Lennon specs to the huge Paris Hilton cover half your face monstrocities. This year, Ray-Ban is back.

Penny Loafers and Prep.

Who would have ever thunk it? Penny Loafers and 1980’s prep coming back. It seems they are.
Get your pennies out kiddies, and throw on some pastel colored knits, well minus the little crocodiles.

emo-fashion.jpegInthe 80’s we called this look something else, today it’s called Emo and kids by the thousands are jumping on. Get out you black jeans and taper them into a tight pair of skinny jeans you can barely get your foot into, break out the black hair dye and borrow mom’s black eyeliner. It’s time to go EMO!

Not into Emo this year? well here ins a trend hitting the hottest design houses and fashion catwalks… Feathers. Yep, high end fashion and an Ostrich have something in common, shiny, colorful feathers adorning that outer coat.
