In a provocative editorial entitled “Call Girl” for the March 2010 issue of L’Officiel Hommes China, photographer Milan Vukmirovic shoots Russian male model Arthur Kulkov of Request New York alongside Ukrainian model Tatyana Ruban of Storm Models. Retreating to a flashy hotel for a kinky rendezvous, stylists Scarlett Viquel and Vanessa Naudin outfitted Arthur in a variety of designer suits and Tatyana in an array of nurse, police, lollipop, cheerleader, and Playboy bunny costumes for a sexy and fun editorial.

Already landing countless campaigns this season, the hunky 19-year-old Sean O’Pry of VNY stars in a campaign for Korean fashion label Thursdays Island’s spring/summer 2010 collection for a nomadic trip to the desert. Dressed in Thursdays Island’s relaxed and casual wear this season, Sean goes on an exotic adventure full of imagination with a female co-star, which remains unknown at the moment, in candid and posed looks along with an Arabian camel.

Portraying a couple of tomorrow, Yuri Pleskun of Request Models and Nicole Erber of Wilhelmina star in a surrealism meets digital age editorial entitled “Baby Dust” shot by photographer Steven Chu. Tackling the issue of procreation in the future, stylist Marc Sifuentes shows Yuri in a Jose Duran shirt, Jose Duran jacket and shirt, a Hernan Lander zippered jacket and Rochambeau webbed tee with General Idea pants and Doc Martens, another jacket by Jose Duran, and necklaces by Black Sheep and Prodigal Sons and Nicole in a Katie Gallagher top and Lina Osterman leggings with Anthias jewelry and Hernan Lander shoes, a Rochambeau webbed tee with a dress by Society for Rational Dress, a dress by Ca$hmere, a General Idea jumpsuit, and a Hernan Lander hooded top with Black Sheep and Prodigal Sons necklace and a Heather Huey encrusted babydoll. With flashes of a baby’s head, this editorial illustrates a dark and gothic love story that may lie ahead for us in the future.

Sporting Alexander McQueen’s potentially dangerous ‘lobster’ platforms in every image is 24-year-old Russian cover girl Natasha Poly of Select Models alongside 27-year-old British male model Ollie Edwards of FM Agency in the pre-spring 2010 issue of i-D magazine shot by photographer Emma Summerton. Utilizing black and white imaging and a bright orange backdrop, stylist Edward Enninful outfits Natasha and Ollie in nude colors to create a neutral looking editorial entitled “Talk Dirty To Me. No Strings Attached.” Although bright colors were not used, the garments were very well designed creating clean sharp lines to focus on those massive Alexander McQueen platforms.

For the February 2010 issue of Dazed and Confused Japan, British male model Daniel Hicks of D1 Models, who was recently featured on the cover of Popeye magazine by Junji Hata, is featured in a dark editorial entitled “An Apple” shot by photographer Rosemary. Styled by Tsuyoshi Noguchi, Daniel is outfitted in seductive garments by the likes of Givenchy and Raf Simons looking very gothic and full of lace. My favorite look in this editorial is Daniel in a black suit with a burgundy bowtie and leather gloves with a fishnet-like material over his face.

The fashion chain Zara Young has hired 18-year-old Russian newcomer Ranya Mordanova of Supreme Models alongside Russian male model Arthur Daniyarov of DNA their spring 2010 collection. Utilizing a black and white campaign, Ranya and Arthur are shown in grunged-up looks of printed tees, ripped denim, and leather jackets with a vintage charm combining together an 80’s glam with modern rock.

Having already been in Lacoste’s fall/winter 2009 and spring/summer 2010 campaigns, 17-year-old Danish male model Lasse Pedersen of DNA is the face of Lacoste’s Red! label spring/summer 2010 campaign shot by photographer Ellen von Unwerth. Utilizing a pop art backdrop, Lasse lets loose being highly animated unlike anything he has done in the past. With Lacoste having been around since 1933, I think this is a very fun loving and appealing campaign to captivate a more youthful generation.
