Mathias has been around for a few years and his incredible body and knockout gaze have made him a fashion staple in the world of mens designer runway shows. Coming from Denmark Mathias has earned himself a contract with Gucci and has graced the male fashion pages and runway shows for Hugo Boss, Givenchi, and many other top brands.

Garrett Neff and theCalvin Klein underwear campaign, The Calvin Klien tighty whities are the best known men’s underwear on the planet and with models like Garrett Neff, there seems to be little question why.

Calvin Klien underwear ads were a staple of magazine ads a few decades ago, they seemed to have gone away for a bit, as baggy hip hop inspired boxers made a large showing and now with the tight buns of Garrett Neff helping the cause, we may see many more Calvin Klien, almost “R” rated, fashion spreads as the tighty whities make a fashion come back.

The 60’s are one of the more memorable fashion decades of the last century. the 60’s saw the coming of full living color and with color photography came incredible prints and fashion color. The 1960’s saw the coming of the first supermodel, Twiggy, and a whole new look that would shape fashion and style for many years to come.

The 1950’s were full of well tailored, slim skirts, tweed was big. The free flowing, free thinking 60’s brought free flowing fashion as well.  Skirts and dresses became more free form, free and flowing. Tightly fitted suits became a thing of the past and women seemed happy with softer fabrics and much more comfort and movement in their garments. Fabrics became more shear and swim suits got a bit smaller… lets check em out.

Twiggy is still a fashion icon today and I gotta admit I really enjoy her on the show “America’s Next Top Model” where she has been on the judging panel. The 1960’s were an awesome time for high fashion and I would love to see a return to some of that 1960’s wild print style.

The looks below from the sixties are just gorgeous, and the models look absolutely insane, this is before computer photo retouching…

Christian Dior was born in 1905 and died in 1957. Dior left a mark on style like no other designer and the Dior runway shows today always have a bit of his inspiration from a half century back. This is a Dior dress from post WWII era

and this is a dress from last years spring collection

Looks like they re-used the hat. Christian Dior created what the press called the “New Look”. The Dior look was called new because it moved away from the slim skirts and broad shoulders that were in style during that era and introduced designs with wide skirts, small waists and smaller shoulders.

That look still continues today and wide skirts with small waists have been a part of the line for many decades.

The Dior line has also kept the hats. While most designers have gotten rid of hats, the Dior line still has flashbacks to post WWII and the large hats that were in style.

As decades pass and styles change, the Dior line still seems to stay true to its creator, following in his footsteps of very feminine and detailed fashion… with a good amount of hats in their shows.

One of my favorite Dior shows was the Paris show of the spring 2007 line. It had a lot of great makeup with a heavily Asian influence. As with any Dior show, the hair is a spectacle in itself and the models looked as flawless as porcelain dolls. Christian Dior Spring 2007

Twiggy is one of our centuries best known models and many say she is the original supermodel. Her huge eyes are unforgettable and she graced the covers of just about every magazine from fashion to newsweek during the 1960’s.

Twiggy is one of these rare beauties whose eyes really do tell a story and we all can’t help but stare at them looking for more. I would imagine that is what made her so popular and hes kept her a style icon till today.

Twiggy then and now…
