Fashion Models and the Hottest Designer Trends

Following in supermodel Gisele Bündchen’s footsteps, 26-year-old Polish supermodel Daria Werbowy of IMG, who is featured on the cover of Vogue Nippon January 2010, is the new face for Loewe’s spring 2010 campaign. Shot by famous photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, Daria is featured in four dream-like fairytale images with beautiful blue flowers, branches growing against the wall, and a peacock with its feathers down. Daria’s beauty is absolutely flawless with my favorite piece being the black leather top with the high-waisted tan skirt and lavender handbag.

To introduce the first looks from the spring collections, the February 2010 issue of Vogue Paris is dedicated to a massive editorial entitled “Vogue-à-Porter” shot by world-renowned photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. With art direction from Carine Roitfeld, Emmanuelle Alt, and Camilla Nickerson, the editorial stars 32-year-old supermodel Bridget Hall of One Management, 22-year-old American model Dree Hemingway of Elite Model Management, 22-year-old Danish model Freja Beha Erichsen of IMG, 26-year-old Brazilian model Raquel Zimmermann of DNA, 21-year-old Dutch model Anna De Rijk also of DNA, 26-year-old Dutch supermodel Lara Stone also of IMG, 26-year-old Brazilian supermodel Isabeli Fontana of Storm Models, Belgian model Tanga Moreau of Models 1, 39-year-old British supermodel Naomi Campbell also of IMG, 42-year-old American model Talisa Soto of Click Models, and 26-year-old Polish supermodel Daria Werbowy also of IMG in designers such as Balmain, Miu Miu, Oscar de la Renta, Christian Dior, Celine, Louis Vuitton, Etro, Donna Karan, and Hugo Boss.

Looking through the model magazines online,  I found an interesting list. The list is of the top 2 dozen supermodel money makers in the game. I am not talking about the standard runway model who struts her stuff down the catwalks of European shows.

The girls on this list are modeling powerhouses. They are beyond being mere mortals and have managed to get to a place in their careers where design superhouses and international cosmetic companies do backflips to get their attentions, as they should.

How many models can say their appearance on a magazine cover will convert into record sales? The top 10 of these ladies can and command six figure contracts to do just that.

Since no one really knows for sure who is making what, we can assume that the list is an educated guess at best taking into account the projects and clients these ladies are associated with.

One Thing most of these top models have in common is Victoria’s Secret.

The gorgeous Valentima Zaliaeva is a staple of the Ralph Lauren brand which is known to pay a pretty penny for the face that it wants to be represented by.

Karolina Kurkova has a nice Victoria’s Secret gig right now. Before Victoria’s Secret and by the age of 17 Karolina had worked the runways for just about every major design house and we her on just about every fashion mag we opened.

The Dutch heavy hitter is a contract magnet with L’Oreal, Victorias Secret, Debeers and Calvin Klien under her belt.

Who can forget that Victoria’s Secret Angel? Her Victoria’s Secret contract has turned Alessandra into a commercial sensation taking her off the printed page and into the media spotlight.

This Brazillian beauty on the cover of GQ gave the magazine their biggest numbers ever. With selling power like that there’s no question why everyone wants her for their campaigns. Of course Adriana is also famous for her Victoria’s Secret amd Maybelline modeling jobs.

Another Brazilian goddess turned media sensation. Gisele has pushed just about every product I can think of and the list of companies wanting her to push their goods seems neverending.

Heidi Klum seems to have it all in check. Modeling contracts a plenty and her own TV show about, what else, fashion and modeling. Her show Project Runway enjoys season after season of viewer popularity.
